(Bedford, MA) – Alliance Environmental Group, an F.W. Webb Company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Chain as Senior Scientist/Hygienist of the Building Sciences Department. In this role, his responsibilities throughout the Northeast will include:
- Soliciting bids for pre-demolition and renovation projects
- Evaluating bids and awarding projects
- Serving as AEG’s on-site representative for asbestos, mold, and lead paint remediation projects, and indoor environmental quality, industrial hygiene, and industrial safety assessments
- Providing on-site technical management
- Performing pre-demolition and renovation project sampling
- Conducting industrial hygiene surveys, including IAQ
- Preparing industrial hygiene reports“Building sciences is a significant portion of our assessment activities, so we are making a direct push to hire individuals with well-established building sciences backgrounds,” said Felix Perriello, President of Alliance Environmental Group. “We recruited Michael due to his tremendous knowledge and broad technical capabilities in the field.”With 34 years in the asbestos, mold, and lead industry and eight years in the nuclear power industry, Mr. Chain brings a broad range of industrial and commercial experience to the role. His background includes oversight of construction and facility operations and involvement in all aspects of the environmental field.“I’m excited for this new opportunity,” said Mr. Chain. “My immediate focus includes obtaining asbestos, mold, and lead licenses for the Northeastern states and enhancing field operations for all environmental and industrial hygiene projects.” Mr. Chain is licensed with the State of New York as a mold assessor, asbestos project monitor, air sampling technician, building inspector, project designer, and management planner. In addition, he is licensed in the State of New Jersey as an asbestos safety technician and as a management planner and asbestos inspector in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
